%X الأهداف: سعى هذا البحث إلى تسليط الضوء على أهمية الدراسات التأثيلية من خلال تجربة تطبيقية على مجموعة من الألفاظ المتعلقة بحرفة صناعة الخناجر في سلطنة عُمان. بغية تحقيق مجموعة من الأهداف الحضارية واللغوية. واعتمد البحث المنهج التأثيلي الذي يرتكز على التحليل التاريخي المقارن للألفاظ بغية الوصول إلى الأصل اللغوي الذي انحدرت منه؛ فتميّز الألفاظ ذات الجذور العربية، والألفاظ الدخيلة التي اقْتُرِضت من اللغات الأخرى إن وُجِدت. ثم تدرس التغيرات الصوتية والدلالية التي مرت بها هذه الألفاظ حتى وصلت إلى صورتها الراهنة. وقد خلص البحث إلى أن الغالبية العظمى من الألفاظ المستعملة في حرفة صناعة الخناجر التقليدية في سلطنة عُمان عربية الأصل، وعدد قليل منها دخيل. وأن جلّ الألفاظ الدخيلة فارسية الأصل تتموضع في حقل أدوات التصنيع ومواده، وبعضها دخيل قديم ورد ذكره في المعاجم العربية على أنه معرّب.  تم تمويل المشروع البحثي الذي أدى إلى هذه النتائج من قبل وزارة التعليم العالي والبحث العلمي والابتكار بسلطنة عمان بموجب برنامج التمويل المؤسسي المبني على الكفاءة بالعقد البحثي رقم (MoHERI/BFP/SU/01/2021). الكلمات المفتاحية: الإيتيمولوجيا، التأثيل، التراث اللغوي، الحرف التقليدية، سلطنة عُمان.. This study seeks to elucidate the importance of etymological studies through an applied study on a group of terms related to the craft of making daggers in the Sultanate of Oman. Study adopted the etymological approach, which is based on the comparative historical analysis of the words in order to reach the linguistic origin from which they are derived. It distinguishes the words that have Arabic roots, and the extraneous words that were borrowed from other languages, if any. Then it studies the phonetic and semantic changes that these words went through until they reached their current form.by showing its source and the origin from which it descended distinguishing the words that have Arabic roots from the extraneous words that were borrowed from other languages, if any. Then study investigates the phonetic and semantic changes that these words have undergone until they reached their current form. Study concluded that the vast majority of the terms under study are of Arab origin, and a few of them are foreign of Persian origin located in the field of manufacturing tools and materials.
